SHABQADAR: A government-run primary school for boys was blown up in the Shabqadar district of Charsadda, late Thursday night, taking the number of schools blown up in Charsadda to 16 in two years, a source in the education department said.

Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station Sro Kali, Gul Shed told The Express Tribune that the school, located in the Khat Korona area of Nowrani, Shabqadar was blown up by unidentified assailants during the night at around 2am.

A room, the veranda and the boundary wall of the school were destroyed in the explosion, which was heard as far as 5km from the blast site.

The area borders Mohmand Agency’s Ekka Ghund Tehsil where a military offensive was carried out in November, 2008.

Now where are all those who were loudly complaining against the US drone strike on an abandoned school that had been taken over by militants in Waziristan ? Taliban have blown up hundreds of schools in KP and FATA.

@itp: They are doing all this because of American presence in the region and Pakistan's support for war on terror. As per Imran Khan there will be no such incidences of school burning and suicide attacks in Pakistan after Americans leave and he takes over the reigns of the country. So please wait till above happens and only then peace shall prevail in Pakistan.
