Tennis: Abid stuns Yasir in semis

Abid overcame the Davis Cupper 6-3, 7-5 and qualify for the men’s singles event final that will take place today.

KARACHI: Upcoming talent Mohammad Abid stunned the experienced Yasir Khan in the semi-final of the Subhe Nau National Claycourt Tennis Championship to set up a showdown with Aqeel Khan. Abid displayed impressive technique and dominated the encounter to overcome the Davis Cupper 6-3, 7-5 and qualify for the men’s singles event final that will take place today. Meanwhile, Aqeel, the national champion, also enjoyed easy sailing, overcoming Imran Shaukat 6-1, 6-1.
