Three truck drivers kidnapped from Bolan district

Drivers were kidnapped by a group of armed men near Dadhar area of Bolan district.

QUETTA: Three truck drivers were kidnapped by a group of armed men near Dadhar area of Bolan district on Thursday in what appeared to be a case of kidnapping-for-ransom.

According to the police, the three truck drivers were sitting inside a roadside hotel on national highway when some unknown armed men barged into the hotel and took them away at gun point. The incident took place within the limits of Dadhar Police Station.

The kidnapped drivers were identified as Khair Mohammad, Mohammad Aslam and Mohammad Ishaq. They belonged to the Satakzai tribe and were residents of Quetta.

A case has been registered against unknown persons and police has started an investigation.

A group of armed men kidnapped two people, including the nephew of a former provincial minister, from the same area on Wednesday.

“Both kidnappings appeared to be cases of kidnapping-for-ransom,” a local police official said, adding that the police and Balochistan Levies have mounted a search in the area.
