ISLAMABAD: Jammu and Kashmir Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JKJCCI) has condemned ban on some articles even though they fall under tradable items and demanded trade liberalisation across the Line of Control (LoC).  Traders demanded from across the LoC during a meeting with officers on both sides of the Poonch-Rawalkote zero line. “The JKJCCI wants trade to be without any restrictions as with any part of Jammu and Kashmir,” said a statement issued by JKJCCI in Srinagar. The chamber demanded shifting the trade to a negative list instead of the present list of 21 items. Meanwhile, the Chamber across the divided line have decided to hold a telephonic meeting on Tuesday in order to press their demands for what they say smooth conduct of trade across the border. “The only purpose of holding the governing body’s telephonic meeting is to make both the governments realise the importance of telephone links and banking facility for cross-LoC trade,” JKJCCI President Dr Mubeen Shah told media men.
