Engaging the youth: Folk song festival concludes in Larkana

KARACHI: The Sindh department of youth affairs and the Arts Council of Pakistan, Larkana, jointly organised a folk song festival in Larkana, according to a spokesman of the department on Monday. The goal of the festival was to provide a platform to folk artists to revive their branch of music. A large number of youngsters had participated in the event. While speaking at the award distribution ceremony, MPA Haji Munawar Ali Abbasi applauded the efforts of the youth affairs department. Young Melody’s Zahid Hussain won first position and received an award of Rs25,000. Government Arts and Commerce College’s Tariq Samon secured the second position and was awarded Rs15,000 while Sorth Sungat Club’s Lela Sorth received Rs10,000 for securing third position.
