Tragedy: Woman loses both legs in explosion

PESHAWAR: A woman was critically injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by miscreants in a field in Boshera Hamime, Parachinar, went off suddenly, political authorities said on Saturday. The woman was passing through the field when the IED planted exploded. Soon after the blast, people rushed to the site and shifted the injured woman to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ), Parachinar for emergency medical treatment. A doctor at the DHQ Hospital said that the woman had lost both her legs in the explosion and was shifted to Peshawar for more advanced treatment. It has still not been determined who planted the explosive device or why.
