Pakistan’s Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) was defeated by India’s Rizvi College in the final of the Red Bull campus cricket Asia Twenty20 in Colombo yesterday. SSUET qualified for the title-decider on the basis of better run-rate despite losing to Rizvi College who also defeated Sri Lanka’s Colombo University. Kevin Almeida was the top-scorer with 56 and led the team to 181 in the semi-final. In reply, SSUET lost the momentum early when both openers, Rehan Azam (two) and Ali Meher (five) were dismissed early on as the team failed to go past the finish line.
