LAHORE: An unregistered seminary supported by funds from abroad escaped the notice of intelligence agencies for over two years. The Johar Town seminary is run with funds provided by a Germany-based Pakistani and employs four Turkish nationals. An agency has now reported that Arif Canwal, a Turk, is running the seminary. The funds have been provided by Sirajud Din, an expatriate. The report says the mandatory no objection certificate (NOC) was not obtained for the construction. The seminary has also not been registered. Besides Arif Canwal, the teachers include Toona Khan, Hussain and Ibrahim.
