While talking to Express news channel, PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif lashed out at the Pakistan Peoples Party over its failure to implement the Supreme Court’s directives and also announced that his party would not accept Gilani as the prime minister of Pakistan.
“The court verdict is based on truth and reality,” the PML-N chief said.
According to the sources, Nawaz has agreed upon some suggestions given by party members that will later be endorsed in a high-level meeting to be held in the coming days.
They added that the PPP-led coalition government, however, was not ready to negotiate with the PML-N on any proposals and would rather counter them legally.
Strategy 1 in first phase
Sources said that the PML-N chief has agreed on four options to be proposed to the government: Ask for the resignation of its premier; dissolve the assemblies; establish a care taker set up and announce the date for general elections.
Sources further said that Nawaz has been informed that all four proposals are not acceptable at any cost and the party would have to look into other options.
According to the sources, the PML-N will ask its parliamentary party in parliament to try and stop the proceeding of the house through protests. They said that party MNAs and Senators would be asked to criticise Prime Minister Gilani.
The second trump card that the PML-N plans to use is to create a constitutional deadlock between the provincial and federal governments by refusing to accept Gilani as the prime minister of the country and to stop official correspondence with the federal government.
Strategy 2
Sources further said that if the above suggestions are not honoured by the ruling coalition, the party would then initiate negotiations with the PPP on issues that it may easily agree upon.
According to them, the party will negotiate with the PPP on replacing Yousaf Raza Gilani with another prime minister from the PPP.
Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker in the Punjab Assembly Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan told The Express Tribune said that the Punjab Assembly might pass a resolution against the prime minister; however, he added that a final decision has to be taken in PML-N’s upcoming high-level meeting.

PTI supported PPP in multan by election against PMLN. now decide who is against PPP......
I really hate it when youngsters with no knowledge of politics start yapping noora kushti over the slight mention of PPP and PML-N. Where is PTI with all its promises of civil disobedience and declaring assets of everyone. Politics is not about a fight between two college going teenagers, who promise to never see each other until they finally get mature. Even Imran Khan knows this, no wonder he never comes good on harsh words. Its good that the youth have developed interest in politics because of IK, but please do some study, read up some theory and profiles of each political party and then discuss things like educated people.
Pml N Zindabad, I hope that next Govt will be of Nawaz Sharif
PMLn has lost moral support after joining hands with Zardari and Gilani.Zardari, Nawaz and Co are all same. They don't care about public. All they care is their money in the country and abroad.
Was'nt ch nisar saying we will not allow gillani to enter the assembly.I wonder where pmln was when gillani was addressing the assembly today.Oh i remember they were not present at that time
Allah bless Nawaz Sharif and PML-N.
PML-N is playing its cards very wisely and carefully. Many politicians all over the coutry are joining PML-N. I hope that PML-N will win the next elections.
that's like a "rug-merchant" who tells his customer in advance "i'll quote the price of Rs.10,000/= for the carpet but if you don't agree, I'll quote the price of Rs.100/="
What a trump card?? To make noise in the assembly!!!! What a clueless and directionless and friendly "opposition" we have in NA!!!
Only PTI can restore the Image of destroyed Pakistan, all other are well tested more then 3 time.
Samjohota express must be derailed by general public. Its time for IK to go ahead with his proposed plans.
ik favours ppp.it seems that pti favours pti.
Its sad to see that IK sometimes uses indecent words against political opponents and they are followed religiously by young supporters. (Although my vote will be for IK if he stops inducing any further ill moral politicians in his party)
The judiciary is biased.
Well well well. Is PML-N going to show the other provinces not to cooperate with the federal govt? Great, they are setting up an example for the PPP and MQM not to cooperate with the federation and stop paying all taxes and duties. A great recipe from a great leader Nawaz Sharif for the dismemberment of the country!
NS gave statement just to fulfill formality otherwise his commitment and sincerity is an open secret.
PMLN is the real opposition while IK is only a master in summursaults. Why don't he go into the streets right now as he promised earlier over PM convictions. Their is certainly a Samjhoota Express going on betewen PPP & PTI, both didn't oppose each other compares to their opposition to PMLNs.
Its easy to make fool of youth but not matures.
Simplest solution: Resign from assemblies if you sincerely want to OPPOSE Gilani. Otherwise all other eye-wash actions will just amount to Noora-Kushti.
As usual, Nawaz Sharif is clueless and don't know how to react. He can never come up with a strategy that could really threaten PPP, or its master strategist, Asif Ali Zardari.
I don't think PMLN has the guts to do anything. Yes, there will be a lot of aggressive posturing, jumping, thumping and dancing. Finally the dust will settle down in the name of saving democracy and of course in the better interest of the nation. Keep watching this noora kushti. The circus must go on as this status quo suits both parties.
All of the above.
Punjab government should refuse to interact with this convict.
PML N should agitate in parliament over a convicted PM not resigning.
Just Noora Kushti.... vote for IK
