Underpass woes: Bridges just don’t cut it
Protestors said the M-4 Motorway was dividing fields and village.
FAISALABAD:
Residents of Chak 59-JB staged a demonstration against the construction of M-4 motorway which they said was being constructed without providing them with underpasses for transport of their produce to markets. The protestors said the M-4 Motorway was dividing fields and village. They demanded underpasses to link them. They said they are being forced to accept overhead bridges to cross the motorway which was causing them difficulty. The residents said that their animals would not be able to carry agricultural produce like fodder, wheat, sugarcane, maize, rice to the village and then to the market using the overhead flyovers. Sandal Bar SHO Mohsin Basra told the protesters that their needs would be looked at on a priority basis.
