KARACHI: Traders have rejected government’s decision of closing the markets by 8.00pm, describing it as impracticable and warned of tough resistance in case forced closure is imposed on them.

All Karachi Tajir Ittehad Chairman Attiq Mir criticised the provincial government for approving the decisions, wherein two-day weekly off and early closures of markets were decided and demanded withdrawal of such decisions.

He did not agree to the contention of the government that the move would save 700MW electricity, instead urged to prevent power theft across the country which would save 3,000MW.
