Avoiding further tragedy (II)

Letter April 23, 2012
The government and the Civil Aviation Authority take notice of these incidents and conducts a proper investigation.

KARACHI: The almost fatal accident of the Shaheen Air plane on April 22, is raising many questions regarding air travel security in Pakistan. There have been two serious crashes in the last two years and the bumpy landing of the Shaheen Air plane in Karachi is now rightly making people fearful of travelling by air.

It is high time that the government and the Civil Aviation Authority took notice of these incidents and conducts a proper investigation into their causes. Whether it is the pilots who are at fault, or defective aircraft, some action must be taken to eliminate the problems associated with air travel in Pakistan to ensure the safety of passengers.
