Speaking to media outside Bilawal House in Karachi, Malik said that if there are no criminals hiding in Lyari, then the residents of the area should let police and rangers enter their houses and see it themselves.
“Police would not shower flowers if they are attacked with hand grenades,” Malik added.
He further said that security forces will continue to strive for restoration of peace in Karachi.
Committee to monitor law and order situation
President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday said lawlessness and targeted killings in the city could end if the three major political parties – the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and the Awami National Party, joined hands.
Chairing a meeting of the allied parties at the Bilawal House, Karachi, the President also directed setting up a committee comprising representatives of the three parties to have constant liaison with the Sindh Chief and Home Ministers. He said it would help remove any misgivings about ‘operations’ against law breakers, extortionists and target killers.
The committee will comprise six-members, with representation from all government coalition partners, will be formed to monitor the law and order situation in Karachi. The decision was taken during the meeting chaired by President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday.
Measures to control the deteriorating law and order situation in the city were discussed during the meeting, which was held at Bilawal House.
The MQM delegation was led by Farooq Sattar, ANP by the party’s Sindh president Shahi Syed and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) by Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah.
ANP’s Syed, while speaking to the media after the meeting, said that the new committee will monitor suspects arrested during security operations, and will also look into more operations with the approval of all political parties.
The meeting was attended by Malik, Agha Siraj Durrani, Sindh Law Minister Ayaz Soomro, Rafiq Engineer and PPP leader Faisal Raza Abidi.

seize their activities in karachi , peace will prevail soon
Another committee, another round of crap talks, another table would be setup for committee members where they would be served by delicious meals, another promise would be made to save the lives but blood of innocent people would be spilled on the streets of Karachi...By definition this is called "Politics"...:(
MQM, ANP are the part of the solution are you kidding Mr President?? BAN MQM and ANP 90% of the problem resolve in karachi.
"Zardari forms committee consisting PPP, MQM, ANP to resolve Karachi violence".
The problem creators itself have now become members of the committee to resolve Karachi violence.
Is there any difference between the lawmakers and lawbreakers or not?
Or it is the other side of the picture?
This is just a great effort and initiative Mr President. Peace in Karachi and then peace in Pukhtunkwa is what should be the first priority of this government. Thank you Mr President.
Political Game Whetever the situation is,but the politician always play the political game...why??????????????
Karachi should vote for PMLN to get rid of the mess they are in.
Just stop killings
Thanks now we should have a settled formula for bhatta distribution !
There is no value for human life in Karachi. We all know that all three are battling for ground control to earn billions of illegal money from Karachi. The PPP ANP and MQM coalition is the main cause of unrest, how can they guarantee peace in the city????
If anyone want to save Pakistan, kick all wrong doers out in next elections. No more chances for these gangsters.
