Speaking to the media, Malik said if anyone from the current government is responsible for the Bhoja Air crash, action will be taken against them.
“The FIR which was lodged also has section 302 in it and we also made it public. You should see the actions we are taking; don’t just criticise us,” said the interior minister.
He said that the interior ministry cannot “victimise” someone. “We want to bring hard facts before the peoples and no politics should be done in this regard.”
Earlier on Sunday, Malik said that Bhoja Air was issued license during Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz's (PML-N) government.
The Bhoja Air flight from Karachi came down in fields near a village on the outskirts of the Pakistani capital on Friday evening, in the city’s second major fatal air crash in less than two years.
Among those killed, 13 were buried late Saturday in Islamabad and funerals for 36 other victims were held in Karachi and other cities early Sunday, with more ceremonies expected in different cities throughout the day.
Television broadcasts showed footage of distraught relatives, weeping and hugging each other, as the dozens of coffins left Islamabad’s Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences hospital where the remains had been taken.

@Pakistan politics: Shame on PML-N? How? So let's say they issued that license to Bhoja, but does that mean that there's no yearly evaluation on these licenses? Even elevators need a yearly evaluation to make sure they are in compliance with the local laws. Bhoja's resurgence should have been through re-evaluation of their equipment and not merely by "getting" approvals by [you know better how].
I'm not a PML-N supporter but I felt the necessity to correct such attitude since we represent the so called "educated class" of Pakistan.
This is an apt example of “the pot calling the kettle black."
Bhoja air and other airlines were hiven licences to end the black mailing of PIA and as a result the fares go down due to competition. Mr Rehman Malik procedures were there to check the airlines and that is why its license was cancelled afterwards. But thanks to PPP the license was renewed and in PMLN regime there were no air crashes of any sort but in PPP now we have two major air disasters and it is pathetic to blame the party who is not in power
@Pakistan politics:Sorry to say Pakistan Politics your username is Pakistan Politics but i am a regular viewer of ET and whenever i see your comments you drag one peculiar region and one party in everything and for you it seems that said party PMLN is responsible for every menace of Pakistan and one region is the mother of all evils. PMLN stance is simple that in the past nothing came from these reports as Judicial commissions are biased as they are not technical persons to review everything and Air Blue investigation is in front of everyone where still no report can be published. So please next time please end this bias of one region and one party and please observe the things objectively and PMLN is in Opposition and that is the role Opposition can take and that is exactly what they are doing.
A very sane saying from the Interior Minister after a very long time. In fact I don't know when he gave such a reasonable statement last time :)
Is he saying that for himself? Wasnt he the one who said Bhoja was given license in NS's tenure?
The only thing we can do is to boycott Boja & Air Blue. They havn't provided any information to the cause of crashes. I Don't expect anything from the Thugs aka looters aka Pak Government. The ground staff at Airports are all incompetent political appointees.
Down with Pak airlines and Thugs.
Yes We should stop playing politics on dead bodies. Will you stop playing politics on the bodies of ZAB and BB.
Difficult to believe anything that this guy says!
Mr. Malik your government is in power now and it is responsible for making sure that planes that are licensed are routinely checked for safety. Your Government failed in this regard and must admit its failure. Even NOW PIA has been excluded for having its aircrafts checked for safety and only private airlines have been belatedly subjected to technical inspection. This yet again is a serious lapse. Would you kindly also ask the Defence Minister to kindly order inspection of all PIA planes that are still used for flying, please? Would you also attempt to make sure, (through proper channel) that the CAA is completely and honest and efficient in discharging its duties, please?
"Action will be taken against the culprits, criminals will be brought to justice, we will bring them to book", all this rhetorical statements appear absolutely incredible when originate from this man .........he has grown to be so unbelievably incredible.
Look who is Talking.......And What he is talking..... From last four year this Devil and his team member is doing Action and those actions are infront of every one.....and now this he is saying the same statement..... I just wanted to say we(Pakistani Nation) need to pray strongly to getrid of this corrupt government, for the true and geniune leadership and also need to do strong Istagfar, truly, this Government come because of acts we did.......... ALLAH bless best of the things to pakistan and Pakistan Nation(ameen) Regards
Have CAA Considered #PIA planes 4 maintanace who are on Waivers/Warnings since Months/Years
I believe Still Politically hired people havn't thought of it ...
@Pakistan Politics ... Such Comments Further supports the Idea that " Pakistani Nation has very Week Memory " ... Bhooja's License was cancelled due to bad maintenance procedures, but still the License was Re-newed by CAA or should i say Some Friend of Islamabad .
Shame on Pakistani Politicians including Rehman Malik on top of the list
I love his nuggets of wisdom.
I agree with rehman malik - but please consider this applying to both sides.
our media is so pathetic I feel ashamed of their acts. For just selling their news they make a joke out of such tragic accidents. Pulling up their Cameras with BREAKING NEWS in the faces of the families of those involved in these incidents, they have no sense of morality or ethics.
Let's see you walk the talk first Mr. Rehman (Dr.). The history of this government is before us and to be honest it doesn't really help your case.
PML N shame on you
