ISLAMABAD:

Four new senior party leaders were nominated as senior vice presidents of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday. PTI Chairman Imran Khan nominated Iftikhar Gilani, Ishaq Khan Khakwani, Azam Khan Hoti and Asad Umer as senior vice presidents of the party.

They have been assigned to boost party morale by motivating youth, particularly in rural areas.

After approval of the PTI chief, a notification was issued on Saturday. The decision was taken at a meeting on Friday where leaders were given a portfolio on party elections.

The new leaders only recently joined the party. Prior to joining, the three of them served as senior ministers on the platforms of various political parties. They were made members of the central executive committee of PTI earlier this year.

Ishaq Khaqwani told The Express Tribune that he is happy with the decision and that they will continue to serve the oppressed as well as party workers.

Asad Umar, Iftikhar Gilani and Ishaq Khakwani are an upright lot and worthy leaders to have for PTI. Goodluck to them for their new responsibilities.
