Hotel management: Five training centres approved for Sindh

PITHM approved a budget of Rs75 million for the institute, for fiscal year 2012-13

KARACHI: The board of governors of the Pakistan Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (PITHM) approved a budget of Rs75 million for the institute, for fiscal year 2012-13, in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Sindh tourism minister Muhammad Ali Malkani. It was also decided that five regional training centres for hotel management will be established in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Thatta and Benazirabad, where training and education will be imparted to students in the field of Hotel Management, which will create new job opportunities for the youth in Sindh. Officials informed the meeting that a modern computer laboratory and a library equipped with 1,350 books on the subjects of hotel management, travelling, tourism and food technology has been established for the benefit of students. The board of governors also lauded the increasing enrolment of students in PITHM, which increased from 314 to 794 within 4 months.
