Maya Kamath Memorial Awards: Zahoor judged as best cartoonist

The Express Tribune’s political cartoonist, Muhammad Zahoor, bagged the first prize for excellence in the field, at the Maya Kamath Memorial Awards for excellence in cartooning-2011 organised recently by the Indian Institute of Cartoonists. The award carries a cash prize of Rs25,000. The second prize went to Balraj K.N, of Media Voice [Chennai], Bangalore. Of these 106 entries were for the awards for excellence in political cartooning and 49 for best budding cartoonist. According to the jury, standard of the entries received was very high.
