National book fair: ‘Turnout shows people love books’

ISLAMABAD: Day two of the National Book Fair at Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) featured a poetry recital by about thirty writers and poets. PAL Chairperson Abdul Hameed said the good response indicates people’s inherent love for books. Writers, publishers and literature fans from Karachi to Abbottabad participated in the event. The daily Author’s Corner featured prominent writers. Ali Farshi said that the technology has affected reading, but as long as people read, even online, it doesn’t matter because knowledge still circulates. The third day of the fair on Wednesday (today) will run from 11am to 3:30pm.
