789 operations: PTA official visits Warid call centre

LAHORE: In a bid to personally monitor the new 789 programme for automation of sale of prepaid mobile SIMs, teams of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) are visiting call centres of mobile companies to ensure its effective execution. In this connection, PTA Director General (Enforcement) Yawar Yasin, along with other officials, visited Warid’s call centre in Lahore recently, says a press release. After closely examining 789 operations at the call centre, the director general expressed his satisfaction over the quality of operations. Highlighting the utility of the new programme, he said with the automated procedure for sale of mobile SIMs, the subscriber documentation will be done electronically through e-CSAF and this efficient system will not only eradicate the misuse of CNIC copies but will also facilitate in keeping an authentic record of retail channel in case of any misuse.
