KARACHI: The Pakistan Football Federation began the women’s coaching course with 19 participants in Lahore yesterday. The five-day workshop is aimed at promoting the sport among women and training them to groom young players in schools and universities. The national women’s team coach Tariq Lutfi along with Pakistan’s woman Asian Football Confederation (AFC) license-B coach Kiran Illyas will train the participants and help them learn the latest coaching techniques and strategies. “Women football coaches have a bright future and they can play a huge role in promoting the sport in Pakistan,” Ilyas told The Express Tribune. “I started with the D certificate course but the key is to be persistent.”
