Pakistan name 4-man squash squad
Players to take part in World Junior Team Championship.
KARACHI:
The Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) has finalised a four-member squad for the Men’s World Junior Team Championship, scheduled to be played in July, after one week of trials in Islamabad.
Top performers including Danish Atlas, Nasir Iqbal, Tayyab Aslam and Hamza Bokhari were named in the squad while Ammad Fareed and Ali Bokhari are the reserve players. PSF head coach Jamshed Gul expressed his satisfaction with the players at his disposal.
“Only Egypt have a better outfit than us,” Gul told The Express Tribune.
“This is an excellent squad and Tayyab is definitely the one to look out for. He gave a tough time to Danish and Nasir and lost narrowly during the trials which showed his character.
“We expect him to create a stir in the upcoming championship.”
Meanwhile, it has been learnt that the PSF is also considering arranging a series against Egypt to prepare the players.
