DERA GHAZI KHAN: Four members of a family were burnt in an acid attack by their relatives on Sunday for filing a theft complaint against them. Police said that Nawaz, his wife Nadira Bibi and their children Waseem, 6, and Nusrat, 4, were visiting the shrine of Peer Fatah Shah when Waheed, Nawaz and Sarwar threw acid at them. Rescue 1122 personnel took them to the Dera Ghazi Khan trauma centre. Dera Ghazi Khan DHQ hospital MS Dr Fazal Kareem Khan told The Express Tribune that the children had suffered over 40 per cent burns but both their parents were in a critical condition having suffered 60 per cent burns and had been taken to Nishtar Hospital Multan burns unit. Nadira Bibi said the attack was apparently revenge for a case filed against the assailants for a robbery at their house. Dera Ghazi Khan DPO Chaudhary Mohammad Saleem said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had ordered that the accused be arrested within 24 hours. “We have arrested Waheed and Nawaz,” he said.
