ISLAMABAD: Rescue 1122 officials recovered a body from the Faizabad loop area on Sunday after being alerted by passersby. The officials shifted the body to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, where doctors declared the man dead. Using documents found on the body, the man was identified as Abdul Rasheed, 55, a retired Pakistan Army soldier. His nephew Umer Khitab was contacted by the Industrial Area police and the body was handed over to the family. The police said that Rasheed’s family did not want a criminal investigation into the death of the man as “they were certain he had died of a heart attack as he was a heart patient”, while also stating that there were no visible torture marks or wounds on the body.
