KARACHI: About five dozen paramedics, including male and female nurses, were released on personal bond here on Friday by Judicial Magistrate, South, Nadeem Baqar Qazi. Some 59 paramedics belonging to Civil Surgeon’s office Karachi and other parts of Sindh were arrested on Thursday by police on charge of rioting and breach of peace. They were holding a protest demonstration within the premises of the Civil Surgeon’s office seeking pay raise and better working conditions. Earlier, they were presented before the court for remand on charge of violating section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code. The court rejected the plea and then ordered their release on personal bond.
