The Awami Party Pakistan (APP) condemned the clash between its workers and those of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) during a Baisakhi festival in Layya.
In a statement issued by APP leaders on Saturday, the party demanded of the Punjab government to take action against the PTI workers who allegedly assaulted four members of APP during the “peaceful Baisakhi celebrations”, said the statement.
The party claims that its members were attacked by PTI workers with sticks, bricks, metal bars and knives.
It also claims that the PTI workers were led by their local leaders.
The statement said that two injured persons were admitted to the district headquarter hospital Layya, while the remaining two were shifted to Nishtar Hospital, Multan, for treatment.
A case was registered with the police against 12 PTI workers, of whom one has been arrested, the statement added.

ET at its best ! They tend to report whatever they hear against PTI !
fake news. some ANP supporter goes around making a statement and ET portrays it as fact.
PTI balochistan official has been killed by opponents. I guess that news was not worth publishing, rather this news is much more important.
@Amjad Bhai. I agree with you. The media in our country is anti imran. The political parties have armed groups & PTI also needs one. I think DPC will fit perfectly with PTI.
@Blithe: Grow up? Do you mean that they should become stubborn and 'dheeth' to whatever people say to them and don't defend themselves when they are provoked? :) I guess you've grown up well. Insulting comment ? My apologies ;)
And the people who comment in favor of PTI I salute with the bottom of my heart. You guys are the true supporter and liberals who will appreciate each and every barbaric act of PTI because it is led by your idol IK.. Wake Up! A nation cannot be run by a single man himself. it requires a proper system, strategy and teamwork. And these are the points where PTI lacks for sure, IK Sahib Please maintain your party workers first then start thinking to maintain the country,
;-) Like it or not. Bad reputation is still reputation and if ET is going this way its good for PTI. And my guess is, ET is doing this on purpose ! Be happy.
ET !!! gimme a break now for the last time i am asking you to post my comment.
I belong to peshawar and we ran a campaign for our 5 ISF students targeted with Pistol. Five of ISF members shot down in Peshawar 10 days back. we made the news viral and sent link to every news channel/news anchor on twitter and facebook. Non of the channel got it covered.. those 5 harmless students were shot by non other than PPP led student organization.
Shameful indeed, you guys come up with every single rumor about PTI, no matter if its true or just a baseless news. what is the standard of news reporting in ET any ways?
In PAKISTAN there is no value of human like if we are in pakistan some body will kill...... or kill by using drugs ..... or target killing.............. or fight between the parties you will kill.................. unfortunatly this is the value of human being in our country.
Blockquote
@Salman Zafar: Was he just being redundant at them as usual? That's not really news after the first or second time.
@True Muslim Paki: PTI relies on the image and claims of being different. That's why the "everyone else does it too" excuse can't be used.
Shameful!!!!
PTI lack tolerance. We see that every day with there insulting comments.
Grow up!!!
where is journalist etics...one sided story..........ET really becoming a crap day by day..
Be ready for these displays of Vigilantism by PTI...sasta aur fauri insaf....
I think journalistic ethics demand that the PTI version should also have been given. This seems to be a one-sided story.
Am a PTI supporter & iask What's wrong in this? Almost every political party in Pakistan have their own heavily armed militant groups. This is truth everyone knows. PTI, also needs one, otherwise it's very difficult to face election. It's important for PTI to rope in groups which have same ideology like DPC which can provide armed support. Also, DPC has lots of supporters & sympathizers all over punjab & sindh whose votes addup. The other import aspect is when PTI & DPC align together, the establishment will also support PTI. Now, there is a division of votes between MQM, PML N & PPP. It's a win win situation. Inshallah, PTI will win the next election. Who won't vote will be the minorities because Imran is a Sunni & that won't matter!
Express didn't even reported jalsas of Bhakar and Chichawatni... where tens of thousands of people were present....
and huh ... a claim by another party... is making headlines here...
EXPRESS.................... u really rockkk......
What is APP? I heard it for the 1st time! Yeh ET has discovered something new for propaganda against PTI..
hahah look at the PTI folks, yar tum log itna rotay kyn ho. Just ask your leadership to take action on it. Its supporters like you because of which parties end up in group of opportunists
lol why on earth PTI would do this to APP ?? its a gimmick and a laughing stock to hear that this APP is blaming PTI to get the media attention.
this is the change they will bring,it is clear this is not IK's party anymore.
hahaha ....it seems to appear cell set up by noora league to counter PTI is working really well dese days...
dere media cells r investing alot on journlist lik dis one every day we coming thorugh by such senseless & baseless allegations .....
And where is the news of the HUGE jalsas of Bhakkar (12th April) and Chichawatni (13th April). ET, please stop this lopsided journalism, for crying out loud.
@Falcon:
I am sure that this is just a propaganda to stop PTI tsunami and why PTI will do it with APP (never heard about this political party). They should stand aside and fight against the injustice of the ruling political parties
ET there was a PTI worker KILLED by JUI F in Bannu...did you noticed that...how far you guys will go to protect your status co...a worker of PTI gets killed and no one noticed it..and when there is a small brawl in a remote town of Pakistan it comes on the main page of your website....Its really suffocating to see this kind of journalism...
Haha. It's just the beginning :P
That's sad. Not typical of PTI. PTI top leadership should take notice of it and take necessary steps to prevent this from happening again.
