FAISALABAD: Dozens of officials of the Income Tax Department continued a strike to press for their demand for a special allowance on the sixth consecutive day on Saturday. The protesting officials continued a lock-out of their offices and boycott of work. At a demonstration in front of their office, they chanted slogans against senior officers of the department and accused them of denying special, medical, fieldwork allowances to the staff. They said the field staff had to pay for these expenses on their own, while senior bureaucrats continued to enjoy these perks. They blamed the bureaucracy for bringing a bad name to the department.
