Victim’s Plight: Blast kills 7, justice remains unserved

The police had registered a First Information Report (FIR).

ISLAMABAD: A relative of a bomb blast victim has appealed to the government, the Chief Justice of Pakistan and civil society for justice and protection from terrorists. Dr Saeed Ahmed Afridi of Sama Khel Shahkra, Peshawar, said in a statement that on February 12 this year, seven members of his family were killed and three others were injured in a bomb explosion planted in a television set, which they had just got repaired. Recounting the incident, he said soon after the blast, rocket launchers and hand grenades were also lobbed at his house. The police had registered a First Information Report (FIR). However, he regretted that none of the accused mentioned in the FIR had been arrested. Saeed alleged that the accused in the tribal areas, but the police and the political administration were not arresting them.
