Nato Supply Routes: DPC chairman stands firm against reopening routes

PESHAWAR: “You want to feed them so they grow stronger and attack us?” asked Maulana Samiul Haq, Chairman of the Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC), in reference to reopening  Nato supply routes.

The comments came during a press conference with Jamaat-e-Islami’s provincial chief Professor Ibrahim at the Markaz-e-Islami. Haq said that the DPC is standing firm against reopening the Nato supply routes and added that parliament’s decision to reopen the routes will not be an easy decision to make.

Haq said that the timing of the upcoming DPC rally in Peshawar on April 15 was of utmost importance but “Peshawar’s rally is more important than those held in Karachi and Lahore because it is an area that is directly affected by the Nato supply line,” he said.

@MUSLIM PAKISTANI: And you are happy making Pakistan a failed 19th century country?? Grow up. The world cares too hoots for terrorist nations. Besides, who are you to stop the benefits to the hapless poor 180 million pakistanis? They need international support. Otherwise they are doomed to excruciating poverty for ever. Do you want Pakistan to become another sub saharan country with narchy all over? Drones will stop dronning if terrorists are crushed once and for all. pakistan cannot become the world centre of terrorism.

MUSLIM PAKISTANI | 12 years ago | Reply Yeah only in Pakistan can democracy mean, ignoring the 91% strong majority, going against their wishes and reopening the NATO route, which will supply the NATO soldiers, and aide in them killing more Afghan Muslims. Wonderful move, 'Islamic' Republic of Pakistan. We will not accept this parliament decision, WE REJECT THE RESUMPTION OF NATO SUPPLIES! ARE YOU LISTENING TO US?!
