RAWALPINDI: A middle-aged man from Attock suspected of dengue was admitted in Holy Family Hospital (HFH) on Thursday. A hospital source said that Zaheer Ahmed, 40, has had fever for the past 12 days and also shows low platelet count. He has been admitted in HFH’s Medical Unit-I, which is a special ward for dengue patients, the source added. Deputy Medical Superintendent (DMS) Dr Javaid Hayat, who is also the hospital’s focal person for dengue patients, confirmed that Zaheer has been shifted to the special ward for dengue affected patients. He said fresh blood samples have been sent to the lab to confirm if the patient is infected with dengue.
