RAWALPINDI: A court on Thursday sought replies from the defence secretary and city police officer (CPO) in the case of a man who went missing from Gujranwala last year.

Justice Shahid Hameed Dar of the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench, while hearing a petition filed by Mehboob Elahi, directed the standing council for federation and the assistant advocate general of Punjab to get information from the CPO and the defence secretary within two weeks. Earlier, the petitioner had challenged the alleged illegal detention of his son Zeeshan Ahmed, 30, by intelligence agencies. The petitioner said Zeeshan went missing when he left his house on May 23 last year to see his friend Muhammad Waqas in Gujranwala.
