Bank of Punjab: Former president indicted
Khan fled the country but was arrested by Interpol in the United States in December 2009.
LAHORE:
An accountability court on Thursday indicted former Bank of Punjab president Hamesh Khan in the Rs9 billion bank loan fraud reference and summoned prosecution witnesses for April 17. The accused was handed over copies of witness statements and the charge sheet, after which he plead not guilty. The National Accountability filed a reference in the accountability courts against Khan and 11 others concerning the fraud on September 27, 2007. Khan fled the country but was arrested by Interpol in the United States in December 2009.
