Vacant seats: By-polls for two seats on May 7

Seats were vacated after Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa and Mohsin Khan Leghari resigned from Punjab Assembly.

DERA GHAZI KHAN: By-elections for two provincial assembly seats will be held on May 7, said a press release issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan. The seats were vacated after Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa (PP-243) and Mohsin Khan Leghari (PP-245) resigned from Punjab Assembly after being elected to the Senate. According to the programme issued by the commission, today (Friday) is the last day for filing nomination papers. The papers will be scrutinised by April 17, appeals can be filed by April 19, which will then be decided by a tribunal by April 21. Candidates can withdraw their nomination by April 23. A final list of candidates will be issued by the ECP on April 24 and polling will be held on May 7.
