'Sixth site' added on day six in Siachen search operation
Currently there are 15 heavy machines including Dumpers, Dozers, Excavators and Loaders at the site.
At point one, the excavation has managed to reach 115 feet deep. Work is also expected to start on the 130 feet long horizontal tunnel with a diameter of three meters to attain access to the accommodation area.
Meanwhile at point two, excavation work has reached 100 feet deep.
A 450 meters long access track has been developed and improved by adding subgrade to improve traction for wheeled excavation equipment on the avalanche to access the priority points.
Work on both main access tracks has been carried out to increase the total length to 1.5 kilometers.
Weather was still posing a challenge, hindering operational and administrative activities, however resolve of the personnel involved was unwavered.
An ISPR spokesman said that technical teams from Germany, Switzerland and US, after having had initial consultations with Pakistani experts in Islamabad are now in the process of deploying to Gayari by road and air to assist and analyse the search and rescue effort.
Teams from China and Norway with advanced capabilities are expected to reach in Islamabad in next 24-48 hours, the spokesman concluded.

India will NEVER remove their troops from there. The Kargil deception by Pakistan put paid to that. Now it is a battle of attrition. The side with staying power will win in the end.
@Jan: India can remove their soildiers from Siachin from tomorrow onwards but after Kargil and Mumbai can India trust Pakistan ?
@Jan: If you're living in an imaginary world, maybe. It still all comes down to who is right and who is wrong about the reason the stand off existed to begin with. An opposing side dying isn't incentive to forget about it even if there are sympathies. The one intruded upon will want to hear "we were wrong and we won't do it again." For many the number of deaths and money spent on it are the very reason they will want to see it through to a conclusion.
@fahim: Both countries should move their troops from siachen at the same time. What are both countries achieving from this stand off.

And since you are so so worried about money,you have your statistics entirely wrong. Pakistan Army's budget is not even close to 8 billion dollars. Get your facts right.
Why a vertical drill of a moderate diameter not tried to establish communication or pump hot air with oxygen?
I admit I am not an expert in this field but it just came to my mind thinking of those brave soldiers who got trapped and no one could establish any communication with them since the accident happened 4-5 days back.
Poor soldiers buried alive paying the price for GHQ's cowardly decision to venture on to Siachin.
SO help from China and Norway will reach on day 7 or 8th and that is acceptable. Help offered by Dr Singh within 24 hrs is not acceptable. Is this loss cost of doing business or its time to climb down?
@Sajjad Haider: Sorry Sajjad. You are slightly off the mark. This is the price that both of our nations are paying for the enemity. friendship does not extract a price, It only offers dividends.
Time we accept the line and declare peace. Wasting 7-8 billion tax money every year to maintain our ego is fruitless. Time and again in Kashmir and latest in Kargil, we have unilaterally violated and moved into indian territory which have seriously damaged our trust. Time to talk peace and move back to our positions in Siachen. Then we can ask India to follow.
