Model Town humak: Locals facing acute water shortage

ISLAMABAD: Residents of Model Town Humak are facing an acute water shortage, as three motors installed to pump water from underground have gone out of order, it has been learnt. “People have been left at the mercy of private water tanker service that charge exorbitant amounts, said Ali a local. The area has been facing the crisis for over a year now, he added. Another local said that a couple of tube wells have been out of order for the past two years, while another one stopped working some two months ago. Meanwhile, a team of Model Town Citizen Forum met with CDA Chairman Farkhand Iqbal and apprised him of the crisis in the area. The chairman assured them to redress their grievance and promised to install a new tube well near the overhead water tank.
