Ali Musa Gilani, who was recently elected to the National Assembly, has left for South Africa and is expected to travel to the UK too, confirmed his personal secretary while talking to The Express Tribune.
The secretary, however, added that it is a scheduled visit and Ali Musa is likely to return on May 2, 2012.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued a notice to Ali Musa in the high-profile Ephedrine quota case while the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) had requested the interior ministry to add his name on the ECL.
He has been repeatedly summoned by the ANF in the case earlier for investigation into the Ephedrine quota allotment.
Sources in the interior ministry as well the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) said that so far Ali Musa had not been placed on the ECL. Sources added that Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Khushnood Lashari, who purportedly attempted to influence investigations into the case, might also leave the country before his name is placed on the ECL.

Chemical Gillani.................
And one day. He'll be a prominent leader of this Country too. Shame on all of us. And SHAME ON HIM.
According to electronic media 300 millions tablets were illegally sold in the country with tacit permission of concerned authority, though they were meant to be exported to Afghanistan and Iraq. The impression we get is that this drug comes into hard drug category and its free sale is prohibited. Are there so many addicts in Pakistan to consume them or they will be smuggled out to say South Africa and the UK etc? Sadly one of the sons is alleged to have benefitted from poor Hajis misery and other is now a leading character in the banned drug.Has the moral fabric of nation so degraded?
@Afridi: time for PM to run, but NO all stakeholders will save 'democracy'
Dear Chief Justice Shb.....
Where is justice???
hahaha kaha tak bhago ge . imran was right that these people will eventually leave pakistan if their corruption is gona be exposed
put entire country on exit control list. Then , anyone planning to leave will have to petition SC and get its permission.
MBBS Corruption. Mian, BB bachon samet corrupt.
Mr. Gillani, I am sure this is not what you have been taught by your fore fathers, whose graves you sit on in Multan. Do you think you are immortal and there is no end to your deeds?
Please don't give the news of corruption and plunder of govt. especially of Gillani and Zardari....otherwise....it will be treated as a conspiracy against PPP and Democracy.....
shame on u gillani...
Soon Hamza sharif ( Shehbaz Jr.) will be leaving when his cases involving PIC drug case and Poultry Industry Scam which is still continuing in Punjab will be unleashed in-front of supreme court.
@Qaiser K. Ahmed: bilawal is the next persom in the queue....
This reflects poorly on the Supreme Court as it is known to all that the government has no intention to abide by the courts rulings nor honour its duty as a responsible government.
these are in powers - not like 'common pakistani' afraid of any by-laws - these born to rule poor lot, hats off to their 'might is right'....no one catch these,!
the moral values of the country's first family!!!
Democracy is the best revenge..
Who else is leaving on a 'Scheduled visit'. Pethatic and deplorable display of respect for the law by the PM and his family members.
7 bn drug scandal at such a tender age? behold everyone the next pm or president of our country is standing infront of us
The countries and societies sieze to exist where Law is only for common man and elites are above it ! Pakistan's time is approaching fast. I hope the Law becomes supreme in this country.
How could he fly abroad. People of these sort need to be cleansed from society. It normal that when there is a case against you, you fly abroad live there 5 years and then return back when your government is in power. With 7bn Rs, its a win win situation anyways. He should be called back through FIA and should be put behind bars. What a douche..
Not to worry their will be a presidential pardon coming here if courts do find him guilty as dad has done lots of favours to the President who himself (president) is hiding behind the constitution to protect himself from the corruption cases and dear dad is not looking for a constitution amendments to seek prosecution of people be it the president if they had broken the law of the land
Oh dear !!! less comments then "Veena issue" well any person involved in illegal activities should be examine by legal authority rather given chance to drain out. Someone says "May Allah bless us all"....but when we will think about ourself ?
Secondly, if our civil servants cannot resist to unreasonable demands of the political people and their families, they dont deserve to be in civil service. They are equally responsible and are co accused.
I am a post graduate and well settled at my work place earning a handsome amount. My tax burden per year is PKR 1.5 million approx and presently I cannot think of having my own house in Islamabad. On the other hand, these individuals from political families are making mockery of the nation and becoming billionnaires in few days and with the blessing of the sitting government they would be set free after some time. What kind of message these people are trying to give to us. Are we fool? Is this country for the people like me and we should migrate from here?
Lol at the first comment re 'they leave' and then mentioning Haqqani. In case you didn't know, Haqqani CAME BACK at the most tense moments of the scandal, wherein he could have run away like this coward Gilani Jr..
Topi Drama, PM of Pakistan corrupt how can his son's can come on ECL.
ANF had requested ministry of interior to place the name of the ECL. It was deliberately delayed by the ministry of interior to make the escape possible.
lol what a funny story hahahaha i wish my father was the PM of the country so i too could travel abroad when the house started to shake and burn larkidesi
Very Bad Mr. Gillani, basically you corrupt this is reason you don't want to face court cases and sent to abroad, you are using your rights wrongly. Inshallah Allah will ask you these questions and give you punish whatever you have done wrongly.
asusal
sign of a guilty conscience
Supreme Court cant do anything! We are seeing cases which should be completed but SC is pending them for unknown reasons!
Abortion should be enforced in these families.
This is just a stunt to gain politcal advantage...media will call him absconder and then he will certainly come back...during the time his father will settle all the case...SO HE WILL BE HERO...No case and also back in country...hahahahahha shame for us
Let the West realise that the charges being investigated against him is of serious nature of his alleged role in a Rs7 billion drug quota scandal.
He should be reported as a drug business associated person to the international agencies.
The basic lesson of the PPP govt over the last 4.5 years is that you shouldn't commit petty crimes (beating up ECP officials etc, chasing couples in parks) or even relatively large frauds (PMs secretary taking bribes for issuing fake LPG quotas, defrauding banks etc) because that will get you publicly named and shamed a little bit (but no more) as the Khurram Rasool, Maya Khan, and Waheeda Shah episodes showed. HOWEVER, if you commit a huge fraud (NICL, Hajj, Railways, Pak Steel), usually over a few billion rupees...then noone can touch you. SO ALL CRIMINALS, STOP THIS PETTY CRAP AND STEAL BIG!!!!!
Democracy in full swing!
Intentionally sent abroad.Very strange Musa Gillani couldn't go on honey moon before now and he remembered honey moon now when he is accused of Rs.7bn drug quota scandal?
Reminds me of a saying, "Like Father Like Son"! When will Almighty truly bless us with actual leaders, only HE ALONE knows! We his people, await with our hands raised in prayers & hope! May ALLAH bless us all!
Please all politicians and criminals please leave and go to the UK. In the old days Britain used to export their criminals to Australia. That was a required qualification then. Now Pakistani criminals go to the UK, with the full knowledge of the UK Government. Imagine that. They are not even arrested or deported for being wanted as fugitive from justice. But if one is a poor man and wants to rise economically, the UK HIC will never give you a Visa. You have to be corrupt and a criminal with big Bank Balance to get a Visa.
Is our law is for poor people. Most of the poor people are behind the bar for braking law but so far I did not see any elite behind the bar. /we the Pakistani deserve all these because we asked for it
Why did we not think of this earlier?
Bring cases against our so called elite. Do not put their names on ECL. They leave( Haqqani, Gilani Jr.) never to return again. This way slowly we will be able to clean out the gutter, and hopefully after which everything will flow properly.
Who is leaving next?
