Tribute: Ahmed Rushdi remembered at RAC

Tributes were paid to Rushdi by TV artist Zulqarnain Hyder, stage artist Rahim Jani, and RAC Resident Director.

A musical evening in connection with the 29th death anniversary of the legendary singer Ahmed Rushdi was held on Tuesday at the Rawalpindi Arts Council, said a press release issued by the council.


Tributes were paid to Rushdi by TV artist Zulqarnain Hyder, stage artist Rahim Jani, and RAC Resident Director Waqar Ahmed.

Hyder said that Rushdi “had that amazing quality which made him feel quite snug in a variety of audiences”. He faced all challenges with courage and patience, Hyder added.

The participants were of the view that Rushdi’s songs had a tremendous impact on the success of movies.

Local singers Afzal Latifi, Mehmooda Qamar, Imran Rushdi, Tina Nadir, Saleem Qureshi, Nargis, Sheeri, Imran Ali, and Samina Khan performed at the ceremony.
