QUETTA:

Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani has emphasised the need to execute wind power projects on small rivers with immediate effect to resolve the electricity shortage crisis.

He said that Balochistan had been receiving only 700 megawatts (MW) of electricity against its requirement of 1400MW, adding that rural areas of the province had been facing 14 hours load-shedding daily.

He also underlined the need to take the suggestion of launching solar energy projects seriously, saying that the country needed immediate measures to end power outages.
