JSQM workers along with the medical officers who had done the initial post-mortem on party chief Bashir Qureshi in Larkana arrived at Aga Khan Hospital with samples today, but were asked by the administration to come with a letter from the Secretary of Health.
The secretary instead of issuing a letter for Aga Khan Hospital referred the case to Government Chemical Lab near Civil Hospital. JSQM workers alleged that the samples had been changed at the lab and termed it a conspiracy.
The party has been demanding that the examination of post-mortem samples be carried out at a 'reputable' hospital like Aga Khan.
Talking to The Express Tribune, JSQM General Secretary Asif Baladi said they were followers of GM Syed’s philosophy and teachings based on non-violence, therefore the party would be observing a peaceful strike.
He said that the charge of acting chairman had been given to Dr Niaz Khalani, vice-chariman of the party.
The party will meet on April 13 to make some important decisions.
Larkana, Hyderabad and Sukkur boards have announced the postponement of Matric exams as a result of the shutter-down strike.
Leader of Sindhi nationalist party JSQM Bashir Qureshi had passed away in the early hours of Saturday in Sakrand after complaining of chest pains. The exact cause of death is yet to be determined.
Qureshi, a follower of iconic nationalist GM Syed, was en route from Sakrand to Larkana and reportedly complained of chest pains after dinner. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

I will suggest you to go and trace the history, hope you will hit upon only Hind and Sindh in this subcontinent. The books of uncontroversial writers of international repute i.e. Abul Kamal Azad and Mahatma Ghandi are advent of it. These guys were not Sindhi nationalists, but belonged to patriotic Muslim and Hindu families of Hindustan (historically known as Hind). Mahatma Ghandi in his autobiography has referred to historical sankrit books (historical Indo-Aryan language) where Sindhi people and this valley were called civilized and thriving communities.
1843: Before this tenure Sindh was ruled by Talpurs’ who fought against British raid. The Miani War is one of famous battlefields between local and invaders. I am not short-tempered like you, but respect Kashmirs, whose heroic role has been really fascinating character for me.
If you are really devil hunter, I will suggest you to please escape in a narrow lane otherwise you can not cut the net of this web!!
@Salman Orangiwala: Lolx..I can smell some one is burning with hate. Cant tolerate the coverage of great son of Sindh. There is no end to hate mongering people. To a quote " hate injures the hater more than it injures the hated.”
ET is giving undue coverage to the death .
@DevilHunterX: Bro, But why do you feel being a Sindhi or Punjabi make any one a less Patriotic ? Its completely strange, you want me to put my 5000 years history and roots in dustbin just for nothing. I am proud Pakistani and I love to own its every inch. But I am not ashamed of this diversity of nations under this federation. Pakistan is nothing without Sindh, Punjab, KP, Baluchistan. The people of these provinces agreed to make this new country. It was NEVER part of any freedom document that you cease to be Sindhi, Punjabi, Siraki, or Baloch after 1947. Grow up bro. Dont mix things up. See the on ground facts and respects the very nations who founded Pakistan.
@Mehran: I have always been a proud Pakistani. Inside and Outside Pakistan. My CNIC and passport states that I am a Pakistani, not Sindhi, Punjabi, Pushto, Memon, Baluchis, Seraiki etc etc etc or anything else. Plain simple Pakistani.
The British introduced the "Divide & Rule" concept. You just keep aping it.
"United we stand, divided we fall".
Bashir Qureshi's death is big loss because he was not only ambassador of Sindhi-Mohajir unity but also Muslim-non Muslim unity. People of all walks of life, colors, creeds and class feel grief over his death. Red salute to him for his struggle!
handling of samples show that there is some serious wrong has happened to bashir khan qureshi, government should come clean.
@truebluepakistani: You call yourself Pakistani but you are quick to draw ethnic lines in the sand.
If you are a trueblue'Pakistani', why the sorrow over a 'nationalist' leader ? Why not shed some tears over the death of Pakistani soldiers in Siachen, why not condemn the countless suicide attacks, why not do something to unite Pakistan rather than cry over a guy who cared about power and had a separatist mindset.
This is clear case of poisoning, murder by secret establishment. Another Sindhi martyred.
