Gang rape case: One girl was raped, the other was ‘only’ harassed, say police
The city police on Friday obtained physical remand for all six accused in the alleged gang rape of two schoolgirls.
However, the police’s initial investigation report found that only one of the two girls was raped, while the other was harassed, but not raped. The rape took place at the hands of one boy, the main accused, while the others waited outside the room. These findings are yet to be proven in a court.
The medical examination report also confirmed that only one of the girls was raped. The police said there were bruises and lacerations on the body of the rape victim.
“All suspects named by the complainant in the FIR were arrested and they are now being investigated,” said a police official.
According to documents available with The Express Tribune, the police had also established that as the victim, who is below 16 years of age, is a minor, therefore, legally there is no possibility that the she consented to the act.
“The main accused borrowed a car from a cousin, one of the suspects, and asked a friend, also a suspect, to let him use his real estate office to keep the girls,” said the document.
Police said the girls were picked up from outside the school at 12:30pm before being taken to the real estate office. They were later released by the suspects and got home at around 3pm. All suspects are related, police added.
Police sources said all six suspects were arrested within 48 hours. One of the suspects was arrested on the day of the incident within hours of the report being received by Rescue 15, a police official said.
He added the investigation supervisor took the mother of the victim along on the raid to arrest the suspect from the real estate office. “She had already seen the place,” he explained.
The victim told her mother about the ordeal she went through as she was unable to hide her condition from her. The incident was reported to Rescue 15 by the victim’s father at around 8:30pm, the time when she was taken to hospital, police said. A police official said the suspects would have been arrested on the first day if the incident had been reported earlier.

Lets see how the police handle this. After all this is in a country whose main religion is Islam which holds women in the highest esteem and the term Pak in its name suggests purity - I asume in communal values? The confidence with which this sort of thing gets 'arranged' is truly disturbing. The perpetrators - all 6 of them are pretty certain that there will be no repercussions either from the wider community or the inept legal system.Naming and shaming is a system that needs to be adopted - does a publicly accessible sexual offenders register exist? I suppose if the girls were a day over 16, it would be a whole different ball game.
It's not only rape,it's paedophilia. It's time our journalists started calling a spade a spade.this guy isn't only a rapist,he's a paedophile. In the civilised societies paedophiles are treated as the scum of society and put behind bars and treated as social outcasts. In our society cases of paedophilia are treated as ordinary and normal.People who rape children deserve to be treated harshly.The paedophile's name should have been disclosed in this report alongwith the names of his helpers. by not revealing their name,other children are being put at risk because these paedophiles will pressurise and threaten the family of the victim into reaching an agreement with them and dropping charges and then they will roam free.The names of all these animals should be publicly disclosed.
