Curfew relaxed: People buy food items in Gilgit

The curfew relaxed between 3:00pm to 5:00pm.

GILGIT:
A curfew imposed in Gilgit was relaxed on its fourth day allowing people to purchase necessary food items.

The announcement was made through loudspeakers fixed in vehicles of security officials which circuited across the city on Friday.

“The curfew is relaxed between 3:00pm to 5:00pm,” the announcement said.

The curfew was imposed in Gilgit, when sectarian clashes claimed at least 16 lives and injured over 50 others in Gilgit and Chilas town.

The curfew was imposed to overcome the riots that broke out after unidentified men lobbed a hand grenade on a  protest rally by the Ahle Sunnat Waljamaat (ASWJ) on Tuesday.
