Curfew relaxed: People buy food items in Gilgit

GILGIT: A curfew imposed in Gilgit was relaxed on its fourth day allowing people to purchase necessary food items.

The announcement was made through loudspeakers fixed in vehicles of security officials which circuited across the city on Friday.

“The curfew is relaxed between 3:00pm to 5:00pm,” the announcement said.

The curfew was imposed in Gilgit, when sectarian clashes claimed at least 16 lives and injured over 50 others in Gilgit and Chilas town.

The curfew was imposed to overcome the riots that broke out after unidentified men lobbed a hand grenade on a  protest rally by the Ahle Sunnat Waljamaat (ASWJ) on Tuesday.

This reminds me clips of Kashmir shown on the TV during peak of Jihad in Kashmir. I saw it today, we brought the fight back to home with all jihadies. They burned swat, waziristan, Karachi so whats new if GB is under attacked. We created monsters who like to rob, kill and bomb. The only thing I usually lement is that they defamed Islam.

I think the Shia population in Gilgit and Baltistan, are in sufficient percentage that they would fight back attacks from the other community, so things are likely to get much worse.
