Capital punishment: Murder convict sentenced to death

Judge also directed him to pay Rs600,000 to the heirs of the deceased or undergo six months of additional imprisonment

LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Malik Tariq Mehmood Zargham on Thursday awarded death sentence to a murder convict. The judge also directed him to pay Rs600,000 to the heirs of the deceased or undergo six months of additional imprisonment. Police said Sohail Akhtar had shot dead Adeel Javed over a petty issue on March 7, 2009.
