Hunain registered his second successive win in Group A, beating the Singaporean with frame scores of 87-17, 62-6, 84-16 and 75-37 and will now face Iran’s world amateur champion Hossein Vafaei Ayouri in his final group match tomorrow.
In an earlier contest, Ayouri thumped Marcus Lim 4-0, compiling the highest break of the tournament of 137 as team manager Shabbir Hussain lauded his players’ show.
“Both have been magnificent considering it’s their first international event,” Shabbir told The Express Tribune. “What they’ve achieved is brilliant. But teams from Iran, China and Thailand are very strong.”
