Speaking to the media at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, Qamar said that the authorities do not have the power [to make such decisions] and should not take actions which could cause damage to Pakistan in any way.
Responding to a question regarding the increasing crisis in the petroleum and natural gas segment, he said that an energy conference was due on April 9 in Lahore, which will be attended by the chief ministers of all four provinces and officials from the federal government.
“We will sit together and chalk out a strategy in order to overcome this crisis.”

Pakistan is in the meantimes the largest consumer of candles and oil lamps/diwas.
Is it the kickback our government is most interested or their concern about 200 plus mw? Many of our neighbours are short of electricity. Why not sub- rent these plants to these energy starved neighbours at cost determined by us earning more commission.
What a fake and disingenuous statement! What we need is solar and wind at residential level, not more gas and coal powered rental IPPs!
Hahaha! Dear sir, take a full night sleep next time you appear before the media, jayalas may be fooled by such statements, not the the non-jayala beings.
Is there any sane person in the ministries of Pakistan. Why can't we trash these kind of people. Election shouldn't be the only choice and this is a botched system to occupy the resources of commoners.
Is this guy trying to be funny?
see Sardar Kosa has resigned in Punjab. please follow him my dear sir
mainly it stop your income thati s what you mean to say, get some sense how will a small production replace 5000 mW shortfall, and oh just in case you are not aware, we are already in darkness!!!!
He must be sleep talking at the airport.....
never mind sir dont bother finding a solution in the final days when (you specifically) were asleep for more than 4 years
We are already in the dark because of you people. You'll are fortunate that the people have not caught your throats as yet.
Isn't Pakistan in darkness already??? Abhi bhi koi kasar baqi hai.
Naveed Qamar worries about commission and possible jail time.
It is better to live freely in darkness than perpetual slavery. All because a few politicians and bureaucrats who sold out their country can live a life of luxury.
True but if done transparently and for peak loads not base load Plus gas not Furnace oil based
Pakistan observes, Earth Hour, 24x7
We neither have any light, Mr. Minister. Don't worry, we will fix it.
What is he talking about? The IPPs which have much more efficient and cheaper rates than RPP are not being paid and therefore running at below 50 percent capacity. Instead he is advocating RPP with higher rates so these scoundrels can get paid off at higher rates.
Just pay the running IPPs man let them run at 100% capacity. This will close the generation gap a lot. Also you need to upgrade the power equipment, transformers especially and move to low loss transformers and newer grids to cut losses.
With this the load shedding can easily be brought into control not by 'talking'. You guys only talk talk talk and do nothing unless its corrupt or you're getting a cut.
Allah Save my Country.
is naveed qamar serious? what does the ppp think it can fool the people? its so behind the curve..
O really?? Can he explain how a mere 120MW (Total electricity produced by these RPPs as mentioned in the ET some days back) would push Pakistan into darkness???
what do you mean??? there will be darkness in the day as well??? because we know there is no ligth in night time in PPP+PMLN+MQM+PMLQ+JUIF(F)´s pakistan..... if u mean i will have effect on solar light in day time then MR sleeping legend please take some action
Will move to Darknes??????????What??? Is Pakistan lightened up today?
Correct me if I'm wrong....but aren't we already in darkness?
Why coz your party won't b earning much if it gets closed?
You have no credibility... RPPs are white elephants sitting inside our house...
I don't know what to do, whether to bang my head against the wall or his...!
Will sit together in our last year of government to sort out energy crisis. What a big JOKE!... We are not from your village Dear Minister who will clap on this for you... We are educated citizens and very well know that you are making us FOOL.
Please forgive this poor nation..In same moeny u can start many many other projects...INSHALLAH this looted money will not be of your use...
wow u mean losing 207 mega watts is that bad when the shortfall is 5,000. YOu should stay awake in meetings more often sir, maybe then you'd know what you're talking about.
