Karachi violence: Lawyer gunned down on Burns Road

KARACHI: A lawyer was  killed on Tuesday when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him on Burns Road, Express News reported.

The deceased, identified as Abid Hussain, was on Burns road when unidentified men on motorcycles opened fire on him which resulted in his death.

His body was shifted to Civil Hospital.

According to the police, more than Rs60,000 in cash were found on the advocate along with an identity card.

When the body was brought to Hussain’s neighbourhood in Rizvia Society, infuriated protestors forced the shops in the area to shut down.

President Asif Ali Zardari announced that the relatives of those who lost their lives in the Karachi violence incidents will be compensated.

On Monday, President Zardari had called for the use of the latest technology to combat violence and innovative ways to raise funds for this purpose.

A meeting was held at Bilawal House to deliberate the law and order situation, which has cost the city heavily in terms of lives and economic activities.

More than 40 people have lost their lives in the past few days after political murders left the city in disarray.
