PESHAWAR: Transporters in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) took to the streets against the latest price hike in petroleum and CNG in different parts of K-P on Monday. The protestors from the transporters association marched up to the GT Road chanting slogans against the recent price hike. They further said that if the government does not take back its notification, the public transport will be withheld from operating. Similar processions were seen in Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi and Charsadda districts. On Sunday transporters and traders across the country had categorically rejected the massive price hike — with the All Pakistan Transport Owners Association (APTOA) raising fares in protest and threatening to go on a nationwide strike if the government failed to retract its decision.
