LAHORE: A woman died from a bullet injury on Monday while trying to save her son. Sanda police said that Shahina, 40, stood in front of her son, Shams, and was hit by a bullet. Sub Inspector Javeed told The Express Tribune the mother and the son owned a grocery store in Rajgarh. On Monday an argument started between Shahina and a woman customer, when the former refused to sell a product at the demanded price. He said some other customers intervened to calm both of them. However, a few hours later, she returned with two men, Muhammad Raffique and Nasir, who caught Shams and beat him. When one of them took out a gun to shoot Shams, Shahina leapt and stood in front of him and was hit by the bullet. She was taken to Mayo Hospital, but succumbed to her injuries on the way. The assailants fled the scene.
