Trade concessions: Indian premier ready to visit Pakistan
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday held out the possibility of a visit to Pakistan if there was “something solid” to celebrate.
The remarks were made in South Korean capital during a fleeting encounter with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on the sidelines of the Nuclear Security Summit.
Singh later told reporters that he used the opportunity to thank his Pakistani counterpart for Islamabad’s recent moves to liberalise trade with New Delhi.
“I had a good meeting with him. I thanked him for the trade concessions that they have announced,” Premier Singh said on board his special aircraft while returning from a four-day visit to South Korea.
Singh said Gilani asked him when he was coming to Pakistan on an official visit.
“He (Gilani) said when are you coming there (Pakistan). So, I said let us do something solid so that we can celebrate,” Singh said. Pakistan had recently announced its decision to liberalise trade with India by moving from positive list to a shorter negative list of goods.

@ayesha: No Body wants him here in Pakistan... What declined? Stop lying. Nobody asked him to come here. No one here wants to see him either. Does that tell you all? We do not care what this our NRO PM says. He doesn't represent Pakistan. He is required to SC in contempt of court and President is hiding behind Immunity, another criminal imposed from outside on this nation. So, they can keep inviting or not, Your PM is not welcome here. Got it loud and clear?
You mean giving you a trade route so that you can fully exploit the resources of Afghanistan? what about Pakistan Economy who suffered max because of WAR in Afghanistan ?
Misleading headline. BAsically Singh politely declined an invitation from Gilani saying he wold wait until there was something solid to celebrate.

this is the way it should begin to be - our hopes are with gilani , that he can survive the attacks in the courts and come out solid to pursue peace with neighbours - india and pak should resume brotherhood
