Optimising care: Seminar on blood transfusion at JPMC

KARACHI: A blood transfusion seminar on ‘Patient Blood Management’ (PBM) was organised at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) on Tuesday. More than 250 JPMC doctors, including post-graduate trainees, participated in the interactive seminar which was organised by the JPMC Blood Bank in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Programme and the Sindh Blood Transfusion Programme. The objective of the seminar was to introduce the concept of PBM, an evidence-based, multidisciplinary approach to optimising the care of patients who might need transfusion.
