HYDERABAD: In relation to the tussle between a cable operator in Qasimabad and worker of a political party, the Pakistan Cable Operators Association has threatened to switch off their systems in Sindh. The association’s Sindh coordinator, Mukhtiar Qureshi, gave a two-day deadline to the government on Friday to quash an FIR registered at the Bhitai Nagar police station against Noshad Raza, a cable operator. According to Qureshi, a man identified as Shiraz Daudpoto has accused Raza in an attempted murder case. Qureshi insisted that Raza is being victimised due to his refusal to pay extortion to Daudpoto and other political workers. Later, they staged a sit-in outside the SSP office where one of their demands for removal of the SHO Ghulam Raza Marri was accepted. Shah Jahan Lashari has been designated by SSP Syed Asad Raza Shah to investigate the case. However, the FIR has not been quashed.
